BEST PART OF JOB: Coaches get their players ready for games through training succession. By doing this coaches will get a good view of each player’s aptitude, skills, originality and dedication to the game. In addition to that, when coaches lead the team into a victory in games, they will make excitement for everyone including themselves.
WORST PART OF JOB: If players show look of motivation and focus on blame to other players, then it will create defensiveness and confrontation of players toward coaches. Then coaches will feel very discouraged and they will have a lack of motivation to lead players to the games. In addition to that coaches will have to constantly yell at players who show non-participation and arrogance in games.

Interview: I interviewed Kim Spewak who has been a JV Coach for two years in TCA. She thinks a coach is someone who can teach and guide players to learn how to motivate them to play their best. She likes to work with kids and share their success. It is not just about winning but seeing them accomplish new things. She does not wish players to believe that winning is their only goal. She thinks that good coaching is to learn about the game and stay up with the rules. She also thinks that a coach needs to know each player’s personality. In her view, coaching helps players to work together, encourage others and not to place blame when something goes wrong. Most importantly players’ playing, words and attitudes must honor the Lord. If you want to contact her, you can see her in TCA at room 104.
